The first-week checklist for a new partner
Your first week sets the habits you use for every client. This checklist takes you from a new account to your first conversations with local businesses, one day at a time, with the guide for each task.
Before you start
- Choose one or two kinds of business you would enjoy working with.
- Decide how many conversations you want by the end of the week.
- List the business owners you already know, and the people who know them.
Day 1 · Your storefront
- Open your account and name your storefront, following the storefront guide.
- Set a monthly price for each level, using the pricing guide.
- Add your logo and your accent color in Settings.
- Read the protections built into your account.

Day 2 · Payouts and plan
- Connect your bank account for payouts.
- Choose the plan that fits how you want to start, using the plans guide.
- Add your storefront link to your email signature.
Day 3 · Your first list
- Write down the kind of business, the town and your reason for choosing them.
- Run the business lookup for that town, and read each finding.
- Mark the ten businesses you want to contact first, with one line on why for each.
- Put the owners you already know at the top.
- Export your call sheet.
Day 4 · Three previews
- Build a preview for each of your first three businesses.
- Check each preview on your phone against the business's listing.
- Write down what each preview gives its business that it lacks today.
Day 5 · First conversations
- Before each contact, answer three questions: why this business, why now, and what the smallest next step is.
- Call or visit each business, and send the preview link after the conversation.
- On the Launch plan and above, connect your own mailbox and review each draft before anything is sent.
- Open with the first email and the call script from the templates.
Day 6 · Follow up
- Follow up with each owner who asked for time.
- Take down any preview a business asks you to remove.
- Record every reply on your call sheet, and read your email replies in one place.
Day 7 · Look back
- Note which businesses replied, and which kinds of business answered best.
- Choose next week's town and kind of business from what worked.
Week two
Run days 3 to 7 again with next week's list. When a client approves a site, the handover guide takes you through the rest.
