Prospect data and opt-out
Draft for counsel review, version of September 24, 2026. The draft states the intended terms and is not yet in force.
1. What the lookup holds
1.1 The lookup lists businesses that appear to have no working website of their own, or one that is broken or outdated.
1.2 For a business found on Google Maps, Ironstone keeps only the business’s Google Place ID, a reference that Google Maps Platform allows to be stored, with the result of its own website check and the month of the search. The name, the address and the telephone number are shown to the Seller from Google Maps at the time of the search and are not kept.
1.3 For a business in the checked list, the entry holds the business name, its kind, its town, the public record it came from, the state of its website, the defect Ironstone measured, and the date of the check. No entry holds a personal telephone number or a personal email address.
2. Sources
2.1 Google Maps Platform, searched when a Seller runs a lookup, and public records published as open data under their publishers’ licenses: Toronto DineSafe inspection records, Durham Region food premises inspection records and municipal business licenses.
2.2 Ironstone checks each business for a website of its own by loading the web address on its listing or, when there is none, by trying the web addresses based on its name.
3. Who sees an entry
3.1 A Seller who runs a lookup sees the entries it returns, one lookup credit per business. Ironstone itself sends no email to a listed business.
3.2 Information about a business, including a sole proprietor’s business name, is used only to offer that business a website.
4. Opting out
4.1 A business may leave the lookup with the form below or by writing to contact@ironstonedesign.com. On receipt, Ironstone removes the business from every lookup and adds its email address, if given, to the do-not-email list of every Seller.
4.2 An opt-out does not remove a Site the business already accepted, and a Preview comes down with its own button.
